South Melbourne FC have parted ways with manager Con Tangalakis after a poor start to the season that has heeded just two wins from their opening seven games.
Tangalakis took charge midway through last season and guided South Melbourne to safety; but a lacklustre start to the 2019 season has seen him step down from the role, as reported on South Melbourne’s official website.
Senior Football Manager Peter Kokotis has said on Tangalakis’ resignation, “Con [Tangalakis] is a dedicated coach and football manager with a distinctive personal style both on and off the pitch.
“I am grateful for the role he played since joining the club in June last year and seeing us through to the end of that season. We thank him for his support and wish him all the very best moving forward. As a lifelong supporter, we know Con cares deeply about South Melbourne.”
South Melbourne’s Senior Assistant Coach Estaban Quintas will take over as Caretaker Manager for the remainder of the 2019 NPL Victoria season.
